Oracle APEX Tabs Container - Control selection using jQuery

This blog is about how you can control the tab selection using jQuery for Tabs Container region. I have seen, there are many other-ways to achieve same - but I have tried to following APEX's way and manage the selection by APEX's JavaScript code.

$('#<tabs_container_region_id> ul.t-Tabs:first').aTabs('getTabs')['#SR_<sub_tab_region_id>'].makeActive();

    When the page opens, I need the page to open to 2nd tab. So I put the following code in the section "Execute when page loads".
    $('#PARENT_TAB ul.t-Tabs:first').aTabs('getTabs')['#SR_TAB2'].makeActive();

    and I get error

    TypeError: cannot read property 'MakeActive' of undefined

    So I tried to create a dynamic action of change of a page item P6100_SEL_TAB which I set the value to 6 on page load. It doesn;t work.
    Can you please help me load tab2 on page load?

      Can you check what is the result of following when you execute from Browser cosole?

      $('# ul.t-Tabs:first').aTabs('getTabs')

      Delete

I have been came across an interested requirement ( which is very valid ) to add scrollbars on the top of the regions! I have seen many times when you want to scroll right to see further data of first few records, you will scroll vertically to get to the horizontal scroll-bars. And then you do horizontal scroll and then vertical scroll to go top of the region. Aren't you ??? :-) So, to ease the user interaction with IR - we should have a scrolling option somewhere on the top of the region ? - For Sure So, how can we add scrollbars on top of the report for an Interactive Report ? By default IR Fix the column headers to the page. This setting gives us an opportunity to add scroll-bars just below the column header as well. How to create your own customized nested report regions using jQuery

Here is how you can create cool nested reports in Oracle APEX and jQuery, which looks like below: For this example, I have used DEPT & EMP example where as a nested report it will show all the child records of employee under department record. To start with, first create a new classic report region with query like " select * from dept ".
